Machine interfaces

Mangabound runs the bundled tools as subprocesses and validates their structured output. Use --protocol-version to read a tool’s version, protocol, and capabilities.

Normative contracts

• mangabind machine protocol v1: --json returns one final report on stdout. Opt-in --progress-json additionally reports progress on stderr, keeping the final report unchanged.
• mangapress machine protocol v1: --json-events emits sequenced JSON Lines on stdout.

Each contract defines its message fields, progress stream, errors, and exit codes.

Working examples in the application

The app’s recorded protocol fixtures and adapter parsers demonstrate the actual payloads it accepts. Its toolchain lock records the bundled versions.
